![]() ![]() If you want to find more about Vivien I would recommend visiting the official website e and checking out the movie. ![]() A lot of her photos, especially the photos of children, take advantage of the roleiflex being the same height as her waist and catching children at their eye level What I think is that she was mostly interested in expressions whenever they were happy or sad and that is what I like about her photography. With releiflex the camera is at the waist and you don’t even have to make eye contact with your subject. Whenever someone takes an object to their eye level (it can be regular camera, phone or tablet) pretty much everyone is going to think that person is taking pictures. Especially nowadays when there is no invisible- like shooting technique or camera color. When you think about it, it’s a pretty good street camera. ![]() You can find it here.Īs for the photography techniques and composition, Vivian mostly shot with her Roleiflex camera. The repetition and sheer number of stereotypes in Kipling's novel create the impression of a timeless and unchanging India, transforming its dynamic culture into an inscribed discourse, or in other words a text. These stereotypes not only serve to reinforce the idea of European superiority over the native population of India, but also reveal a key mechanism that has been used since the late eighteenth century to assert and maintain Western dominance, namely the subjection of the Orient to a form of temporal stasis. It argues that despite the praise the novel has received for its realism, it in fact contains a large number of negative stereotypes about the Orient. ![]() ![]() This essay analyses the representation of the Orient in Rudyard Kipling's Kim. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kalevala is real history in Timo Parvela's trilogy Sammon vartijat ("The guards of the Sampo") and Seija Vilen's Pohjan akka ("The Old Woman of Pohjola").
